New from Gillette is the Gillette Fusion range – advanced technology has been applied to Gillette’s shaving expertise to give you a shaving experience unlike any other. More – improved cutting technology ensures a closer cut. Less – it also reduces irritation on your skin, eliminating razor burn.
The new Gillette Fusion razor features five blades on the front of the razor, spaced 30% closer together than the Gillette Mach 3 system; and a single precision trimming blade on the rear. A lubricating strip is positioned on the front and back of the Gillette Fusion and the Gillette Fusion Power razors. Comfort coupled with the closest shave ever gives extreme comfort – less irritation; less razor burn.
Positioning the blades 30% closer makes the Gillette Fusion range stand out from the opposition - this distributes the shaving force across the blades to help reduce pressure for less irritation and extraordinary comfort whilst shaving. This means less razor burn, less redness and itching after shaving. In addition, a Flexible Comfort Guard (featuring an unprecedented 45 microfins) follows the contours of the face and gently lifts up hair, to help the shaving surface comfortably shave closer.
The Enhanced Indicator Lubrastrip, with Vitamin E and Aloe Vera, allows optimum shaving conditions – fading from green to white when the strip and blade are no longer performing as they should. This ensures your razor is in pristine condition – prime for cutting; which means a closer shave and minimal razor burn.

The new Gillette Fusion razor is available as a manual and as a Power razor – the Gillette Fusion Power features a battery-powered motor which causes small vibrations. The ideal shave with Gillette Fusion:
Step 1 – shower before you shave – this removes natural oils and perspiration that will hinder the penetration of water. Applying warm water also helps soften the hair on your face, making it easier to shave. Ease of shaving will reduce irritation and razor burn, and ensure a closer shave.
Step 2 – apply shave gel. The water absorbed by your hair will quickly evaporate, leaving hair in its original state. Shave gel prevents this evaporation - keeping in water which makes your facial hair softer. Gillette Fusion Hydragel also reduces the friction between the razor blade and your skin – improving razor glide and reducing irritation or razor burn.
Step 3 – the shave itself. Use light, gentle shaving strokes. Applying too much pressure will result in irritation or razor burn. Rinse your Gillette Fusion or Gillette Fusion Power blade often in warm-hot water to remove build-up of hair.
Step 4 – leave tricky spots, and areas of tougher hair growth, until last. Longer soaking in shave gel will soften these areas further, reducing irritation and giving a closer shave. Use the Precision Trimmer blade on the back of your Gillette Fusion razor to easily trim sideburns, to shave under the nose, and to shape facial hair.
