Atrogel Arnica Gel - for relief of stiffness, muscular aches and pains.

A. Vogel Arnica Gel is the first UK product to be granted a licence under the new EU Herbal Medicine Directive, and now has the unique name Atrogel. Atrogel Arnica Gel is licenced for the relief of muscular aches and pains, and can also be used for joint stiffness, sprains and strains, Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) and bruising.

Arnica Gel, as Atrogel was previously known, has been proven in research to be as effective as the pharmaceutical product Ibuprofen gel.

A clinical trial was carried out to look at the effectiveness of a gel made from fresh, organic Arnica Montana flower heads, against one of the leading pharmaceutical gels, Ibuprofen, with very positive results.

Twenty doctors in Switzerland undertook a strictly controlled study involving 204 patients using A.Vogel Arnica Gel and Ibuprofen gel. Improvement in two main areas had to be achieved for the study to be successful, and in both cases Arnica Gel proved to be as effective as the pharmaceutical pain-killer.

In addition, of the patients who assessed efficacy as 'very good' or 'good', more patients in the Arnica group (64.0%) expressed satisfaction with their gel than in the Ibuprofen group (58.8%). The investigators also generally evaluated the efficacy of the Arnica Gel as better than that of the Ibuprofen gel.

Active ingredient: fresh Arnica flowers. 1 g of gel contains 500 mg of extract which is equivalent to an average of 160 mg fresh Arnica flowers.

Other ingredients: ethanol, purified water, glycerol (plant origin) and hypromellose (thickener).

Before first use check that the tube seal is not broken. Remove tube seal before use.

Adults: Apply 2 - 10 cm gently to the affected area. Use 2-4 times daily.

Children and the elderly: Follow the adult dose.

Do not use on broken, cut or irritated skin.
