Indication - Relief of withdrawal symptoms associated with smoking cessation. It can be used to help smokers stop abruptly or to cut down and then stop
Directions - Adults who smoke less than 20 cigarettes daily
Each piece can be chewed slowly for 30 minutes using the ‘chew and park‘ regime - It is important that the gum is chewed until the taste of the gum become strong. The gum should then be parked along the inside of the cheek. When the taste fades the gum should be chewed again. Nicotine is absorbed into the system when the gum is ’parked’
A maximum of 15 pieces a day should be used; if more than 15 pieces are required the 4mg strength should be used
Cautions - this product should be used with caution in GI disease (stomach ulcers indigestion), cardiovascular disease, diabetes, uncontrolled hypothyroidism , renal or hepatic impairment, and when pregnant or breast feeding
Side effects -  include headache nausea and vomiting
